Massage and its Benefits

    Benefits of massage:

    • Increases circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.
    • Stimulates the flow of lymph, the body's natural defense system, against toxic invaders.
    • Relaxes and softens injured and overused muscles.
    • Increases joint flexibility.
    • Reduces recovery time, helps prepare for workouts, and eliminates subsequent pains of the athlete at any level.
    • Reduces spasms and cramping.
    • Improves range of motion and decreases discomfort in the lower back.
    • Releases endorphins, the body's natural painkiller, and may help in chronic illness, injury and recovery from surgery.


      Types of Massage:

    • Swedish- This is a classic and soothing massage using long strokes with light to firm pressure and is beneficial for people who experience pain or tension from stress and overuse of muscles.
    • Sports- A theraputic treatment employing deep kneading and circulatory movements of specific muscle groups incorporated with stretching prior to or after strenuous activity.
    • Deep Tissue- This massage incorporates myo-fascial release and neuro-muscular techniques to release hypertension in muscles and fascia.  Static pressure and hold-release techniques can be somewhat painful but is encouraged for those with specifc areas needing help.
    • Shiatsu- An intensive Japanese pressure point massage traditionally done clothed with no oil. Releases blocked energy and restores balance.
    • Chakra/Energy- This massage is wonderful for those individuals who feel blocked emotionally or mentally. Using a combination of light touch, stones, crystals and music your 7 chakras with rebalance and mind/body connection will restore.
    • Raindrop Therapy- Using essential oils in combination with massage the body will experience structual and electrical alignment.  It will also clear energy and relax the body.
    • Chi Ne Tsang- This is an ancient chinese massage for the organs.  Massaging areas of the abdomen and using sound, the organs with gently be massaged and healing will being.  Beneficial to those experiencing digestive or emotional problems.
